Porsche 911 Used Cars From 2009 to 2011

Porsche 911 used cars that come from the years 2009 to 2011 were an updated version of the G5 997. This latest version of the 911 can boast about a new engine that reduces fuel intake and adds more horsepower to the various 911 models. Porsche used cars like the 911 (in the used car market place) compete against the likes of the Nissan GT-R, Nissan 370Z and the Chevrolet Corvette just to name a few. My research will be on the Porsche 911 as a used vehicle to look at.

I took a look some of the various 2011 Porsche models, but was drawn to the 911 GTS.  This particular model is hardcore and sexy at the same time. Inside the vehicle you get lots of gauges, with a large centered tachometer making it easier to use and read. The racing seats are a nicely designed seat that leaves you feeling you just got into a race car. There’s also a button that opens the mechanical flaps in the engine and this makes the exhaust sound louder. Surprisingly the 911 GTS cockpit is spacious and comfortable for a small high performance sports car.

There are several different fuel statistics for the various models the 911 Porsche has to offer. The Carrera 4S has a fuel rating of 11.8-litres, per 100km for city driving and 8-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The GT3, GT2 and the turbo all had a fuel rating of 13.5-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 8.5-litres, per 100km, for highway driving.

Engine sizes vary for the various models the 911 has to offer. The Targa and Carrera models have 3.6-litre engine that produces 345 horsepower (can come in either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive). The Targa S and the Carrera S used a 3.8-litre engine and this produces 385 horsepower. The GT3 has a 3.6-litre engine and this produces 415 horsepower. The GT2 (turbocharged) has a 3.6-litre, 530 horsepower engine.

Let’s look at some of the pros and cons of the Porsche 911 as a used vehicle:

1-      There are no crash test results for the Porsche 911, that were made from 2009 to 2011.

2-      There are no reliability reports from any leading online consumer watch dog.

3-      There are various reports in different 911 forums that the new PDK transmission has electrical problems.

4-      Maintenance and parts will be expensive if you do decide to buy a used 911.

I hope this helps if you’re thinking of buying Porsche used cars like the 911.
